There are a total of 12 colleges and universities and eight community colleges in the Triangle Region. The academic institutions work closely with local economic developers and businesses to ensure course offerings align with industry needs and prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow. 

Durham is a magnet for young, innovative, entrepreneurial workers that new, growing companies seek. 

We retain 53% of these graduates annually in our region and more than 46.5% of the population, 25 years and older, hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
